About Lasa Health
Lasa Health (www.lasahealth.com) is a healthtech startup developing AI/ML tools to support clinicians in the diagnosis and management of pelvic pain disorders. Founder, Margaret Melville, suffered from chronic pelvic pain for over a decade and visited 25 doctors before getting a diagnosis. Lasa Health has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation and is working with Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated MPH student or recent graduate to join our team as an intern. The intern will support various projects aimed at enhancing our AI/ML tools and contributing to our mission of advancing pelvic pain management. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, assisting in research studies, collaborating with our data science and clinical teams, and contributing to grant writing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings on pelvic pain disorders, treatment options, and related public health issues.
Assist in the design and implementation of research studies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Collaborate with our data science and clinical teams to integrate public health insights into our AI/ML tools.
Support the development and evaluation of educational materials and resources for clinicians and patients.
Contribute to grant writing and other funding opportunities to support our research and development efforts.
Participate in team meetings, providing input on project planning and execution.
Assist in creating reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project findings and progress.
Qualifications
Current MPH student or recent graduate from a reputable public health program.
Strong interest in women's health, particularly pelvic pain disorders.
Excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in literature reviews and data analysis.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) and qualitative analysis tools is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
