Their end-to-end patient engagement platform optimizes how patients interact with their healthcare providers. Currently, Lasa Health is focused on chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. This position will be primarily supporting our National Science Foundation funded chatbot project, leveraging technology to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by this endometriosis.
Position Overview
Lasa Health is seeking a passionate and adaptable Prompt / Data Engineer to join our innovative startup. As a Prompt / Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and refining prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) that power our endometriosis support chatbot. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to data engineering, natural language processing, and software development while being a part of a company that's reshaping healthcare technology. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 or more days a week in office at our Boulder location.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with endometriosis specialists and patients to design, develop, and optimize prompts for LLMs tailored to support endometriosis patients during flare-ups.
Immerse yourself in endometriosis literature and patient experiences to create prompts that lead to empathetic, informative, and contextually relevant responses from the chatbot.
Build and maintain a prompt library, continuously refining prompts based on patient feedback, model performance, and the evolving landscape of endometriosis research.
Contribute to the development of data preprocessing pipelines, ensuring data integrity and accessibility to enhance the chatbot's capabilities.
Play an active role in integrating prompt-engineered LLMs into our chatbot software, ensuring a seamless and empowering user experience.
Participate in code reviews, contribute insights to software architecture discussions, and provide guidance to other team members.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in natural language processing, data engineering, and software development to drive innovation within the startup.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience).
Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, Javascript, or similar.
Experience in data engineering, data preprocessing, and data quality assurance.
Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques, including working with state of the art LLMs.
Genuine interest in endometriosis and women's health, and a drive to make a positive impact in this domain.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to craft effective prompts to elicit desired responses from LLMs.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated and adaptable to the fast-paced environment of an early-stage startup.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
